The Story Behind
The Posts

You've seen glimpses of my journey on Instagram—now get the complete story that connects all the pieces.

When a pregnancy complication called placenta accreta nearly took my life, I thought surviving was the end of the story. I was wrong. That near-death experience was just the beginning of a much longer journey that would test every relationship, reveal hidden traumas, and ultimately transform our understanding of healing.

Vertigo follows our family through the aftermath: my struggle to reclaim my identity, Brad's hidden battle with addiction as he processed his own trauma, our marriage cracking under unspoken pressures, and the unexpected fourth pregnancy that forced us to confront everything we'd avoided.

This isn't just a birth story—it's an unflinching look at what happens when the medical emergency ends but the real healing work begins.

A Story America
Needs To Hear

With the highest maternal mortality rate among developed nations, America excels at saving lives but fails at supporting long-term recovery. Vertigo exposes this gap through intimate storytelling that puts faces and feelings to the statistics.

By centering both maternal and paternal experiences, this memoir fills a crucial void in birth trauma literature while challenging readers to reimagine what comprehensive maternal care could look like.
